I am a designer and artist dedicated to creating products and systems that regenerate ecosystems and strengthen the human-nature connection. My work explores the intersections between design, art, nature, and innovative technologies, with a focus on combining traditional and artisan crafts with 21st-century fabrication techniques and biology. By leveraging living organisms as co-designers, I create circular and regenerative materials and objects, such as bioplastic from algae, botanical ink, and kombucha leather corsets, which foster a deeper connection with nature in our synthetic-dominated lives.
My creative journey began as a Design Studies Major at San Jose State University in California, where I studied Industrial and Graphic Design alongside studio art disciplines like screen-printing, metalworking, and ceramics. Afterwards, I pursued a Master’s Program in Sustainability for Fashion and Creative Industries at AMD Berlin’s Academy of Art and Design. My biodesign-inspired thesis explored using bioluminescent algae and mushrooms for urban and textile applications.
I am passionate about uncovering unexpected and accessible applications of bio-based and recycled materials to inspire a public shift toward more nature-centric attitudes. By bridging the past and future, honoring traditional and indigenous knowledge, and preserving cultural crafts, I aim to use wonder, awe, and delight to build a better world for future generations.
